Helped By God: From Dungeon To Grace

Her family were subsistence farmers

Once upon a time, there was a little girl born into an ABJECT family and she was the oldest child of eight children in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria, West Africa.

Her family were subsistence farmers, and they got their means of livelihood from farming. In addition, the eight children were able to attend public elementary schools because after school hours, they sold fruits that were in season on the streets of Benin City.  Unfortunately, this family was so poor that this little girl and her bosom friend started begging for alms. They will go to the University of Benin, standing by the classroom exits, admiring the students’ blessings and opportunities to get education; for as long as the stared into the classrooms, she was coveting to be opportune someday to get University education. In addition, they targeted the students as they closed from their lectures and started to beg them for money to buy food.

For some reason, this little girl carried a GRACE called FAVOR UPON HER HEAD and this attracted DESTINY HELPERS TO HER. But…But….But….this little girl was very HUNGRY and she did not take for granted any opportunity given to her.

First, she was ALWAYS on top of her class and her level of academic excellence allowed her to stand out amongst her peers and this attracted people to her, and they wanted to help her. Her father loved her so much and admired her level of excellence. Therefore, when she graduated from elementary school, her   father admonished everyone in the family to intensify their selling of fruits in season and their work on the farm to save money for her Secondary (High) school education. This decision was at the expense of good healthcare services. Her family could not afford prenatal care throughout her mother’s eleven pregnancies and her deliveries were conducted by traditional birth attendants. Consequently, the sixth child was born with pathological Jaundice, and her family could not afford hospital related treatments. Thus, this child became disabled with epileptic seizures and developmental delay. At the age of 26, he wandered away from home and was never found.

Subsequently, this young girl proceeded to her secondary (High) school education, and she had a girlfriend born into an affluent family. Her girlfriend’s father loved this poor girl and allowed her to commute with her family to school daily. This wealthy man was moved with compassion and advised the girl’s parents that their daughter was very brilliant, and they should do everything within their power to educate her. In addition, he assisted her with some school related fees. Nevertheless, the poor girl continued to strive for excellence, helping with family petty trading business and farming. She graduated from Secondary (High) school with excellent results in the West Africa Examination Council (WAEC). Thereafter, this poor girl parted ways with this rich family, and she secured a job as a sales girl in an optical store. Subsequently, she started studying for the nursing entrance examination into the school of nursing, University of Benin Teaching Hospital and she passed the entrance examination. However, every candidate who passed the entrance exam needed a “Godfather” for recommendation to the nursing training institution. Unfortunately, she knew nobody to adopt her for this crucial step in the admission process. Therefore, she went everywhere with her WAEC results, praying for destiny helpers, but not knowing how to gain admission into the Nursing school

MISSION INTO THE SCHOOL OF NURSING:

One day, this teenager and her childhood friend were standing at the gas station and waiting for someone who promised to meet with them. Unfortunately, they waited for hours and the person did not show up. Suddenly, there was a man in the office of the gas station who came out and beckoned at these

girls to come to him. They went and sat with him in his office and here are his words: “you girls have been sitting there for hours, what are you waiting for? And don’t you girls go to school? This poor girl replied that she graduated from Secondary (High) school with excellent grades and handed over her WAEC results to him. Upon looking at the results, he was so impressed and asked what she was going to do with the WAEC results. She then proceeded to tell him about her love for nursing school. Unfortunately, she could not find a “Godfather” to recommend her. Alas! This man volunteered his friend who was the chief accountant of the teaching hospital, and he became the “Godfather” of this poor teenager. Thereafter, she gained admission into the school of nursing, but she encountered another “roadblock” when she was given the prospectus (admission package) that cost over one thousand naira (in the 1980’s). She handed this package to her parents, but her father blatantly declared their family’s inability to fund this initial admission related expenses even though the nursing program included monthly stipends that will cover the entire training period. Nevertheless, it was a requirement for admitted students to pay the “seed money” first before they can receive the stipends. This poor girl was disappointed, saddened, and had sleepless nights. As she prayed for another destiny helper, she remembered the man at the gas station who connected her to her “Godfather.” The following day, she met with him and he provided her with her school fees. She graduated from the school of nursing as the BEST HOSPITAL FINALIST which gave her an AUTOMATIC EMPLOYMENT at the University of Benin Teaching Hospital, Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. In this hospital, you need a “Godfather” to work there too.

THE WIND OF LIFE: LOVE

The ENGRACING of FAVOR continues to work for this poor girl who is now a Registered Nurse and working in a teaching hospital.

Her God given husband traveled from the United States of America, and they got married and traveled together to the United States of America and they are blessed with four children who are now responsible young adults in their various careers. Subsequently, our village girl from abject poverty continued to be HUNGRY for excellence. Therefore, she continued into higher levels of education in America and now she has a Master’s degree in Nurse Anesthesiology. Today, she is the Founder of a nonprofit organization called Love Your Neighbor Rescue Mission International, Inc and registered in the state of Florida, USA and in Benin City, Edo State, Nigeria. In addition, she is the Founder of Gratitude Revolution 4 Life.
